Our family-friendly home has plenty of space for lawn games, bike riding, as well as fishing and swimming from the dock. There are nearby marinas and launching points, so bring your boat to enjoy exploring the Yeocomico River, with just a quick ride out to the Potomac. We are also located near some excellent local wineries, one of which is within walking distance! Check out the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail, enjoy nearby local breweries, try some delicious local seafood and eats in nearby towns, and shop to your heart's content at the area's antique and thrift stores. Visit us to appreciate Virginia's rich history and natural beauty!
Our Location
Morningtide Cottage is set back on a quiet road with no through traffic. Perfect for strolls and bike rides with friends and family, surrounded by water and woods, our peaceful neighborhood will make you feel at home. We encourage guests to use the field for lawn games, enjoy our outdoor dining area and fire pit with water views, and have coffee on our deck while watching the sunrise over the water. There is a pair of nesting bald eagles nearby, plenty of osprey who fish in the cove, great blue herons crabbing along the water’s edge, and loads of song birds to serenade you. We encourage you to sit on our deck to listen to them and to be on the lookout for any other animals that might visit.
The Space
NEW for 2022! Dock has had new planks installed for guest safety and comfort. On demand hot water heater installed this spring.
Master bath with double vanity and walk in shower. Four season sun room with sleeping capability; wake up with the best view in the house! Large fire pit and outdoor dining area allow you to enjoy the view all day and into the night.
Recently renovated and restored house including a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and Keurig coffeemaker, open concept kitchen/living/dining area, and sun room with water views.
Guest access
Feel free to use our dock for swimming, crabbing, fishing, and boating; however, please no unattended children at the dock. We welcome guests to bring their own boats and fishing gear (just please obey all local laws with regard to boating/fishing/crabbing). A ladder is available at the dock for guest use. Our closest marina rents kayaks and canoes and has a newly restored dip pool! (Contact The Slips for more info). The large garage near the road and small garden shed by the house are unavailable to guests at this time. There is plenty of parking on our paved driveway, including a nearby carport available for guest use.
We provide access to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and casting capabilities from your device. There is unlimited WiFi and DVD players for use. There are many books, games, and movies available for guests during their stay.
Our deck box (on the pea gravel patio) includes some folding chairs, games, and other outdoor fun supplies for guest use.
