Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Great location - right near the oceanside public park, free parking, a great beginner surf spot in view, amazing ocean sunsets, and a walk or very short drive to a few fantastic beaches (Charley Young Beach was our favorite). Peace Love Shave Ice is right nextdoor and it was an easy walk to Food Land.

Negative: Facility was dicey at best - the actual unit was fine with great balcony and ocean views. But the entire building has been propped up by temporary supports making it seem very unsafe. There were obvious cracks in the building that had been repaired but were showing through the repairs. And 2 family members got locked in the trash chute closet for about 30 minutes at about 6:30 am. We took extraordinary measures to free them - the building management (different than the actual unit manager) was unresponsive on short notice and early in the am. The unit manager was very responsive but couldn't help. We were about to have to call the police/fire truck for actual help until we managed to get them out ourselves. Noone was hurt or in real danger, but it almost ruined our day and really freaked a child out. Inquire about the stability of the building and if rehab has been completed.

Summary: Great if you are confident the building will remain upright.
